Special Needs Inclusion Programme (SNIP)
JCCT support children in a childcare setting as part of their Special Needs Inclusion Project. A support worker from JCCT joins us at the nursery regularly to give 1:1 attention to one of our children under this initiative.
The special needs inclusion project (SNIP) supports preschool children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) access mainstream private nurseries and preschools. It supports any child from birth to school age with an additional need accessing a private nursery or preschool setting. The main criteria is that the child is accessing support through two professional agencies e.g. Speech and Language Therapy, Early Years Inclusion Team, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy.

Swimming
Our Growing Gorillas have their swimming lessons at Les Ormes Swim Academy. Term 1 and 2 are £84 x12 lessons, term 3 is £70 x10 lessons. Les Ormes offer one free taster lesson to all new children that start at the nursery, ranging from adult & child lesson to a group class. Parent must contact Les Ormes Swim Academy quoting the child’s full name to book their taster.
Super smiles
Our Growing Gorillas take part in this award winning oral health improvement programme. This programme is run by dental professionals that visit the nursery and educate the children on the importance of daily tooth brushing.
Sing and sign
Each week our under 3’s spend time singing and signing with Lisa, who is qualified in British Sign Language. This includes favourite nursery rhymes, action songs, signing stories and playing games.
Animal encounters
Once a week a group of our Growing Gorillas will go into the zoo and learn about a specific animal with a formal education officer. We also have access behind the scenes where we can see the food being grown and prepared for the animals.
