An experience to inspire children

After I finished my schooling at St Georges in Jersey, I went on to study at Norland College in England. Norland is regarded as the top college to study childcare and I undertook extensive training which included hospital paediatric and maternity experience, a special needs school and a children’s hotel.

After graduating with my NNEB and 3 years of studying with placements, I went on to work as a Norland Nanny for a number of years. This experience included looking after children of high profile celebrities and successful business people in London, Los Angeles, New York and Hong Kong.

Since my return to Jersey in the late 1990’s, I have worked in large nurseries with roles including Deputy Manager and Manager. My husband and I decided to set up Cheeky Monkeys as a joint venture with Durrell, opening our doors in 2015.

Having been given the latitude to design and project manage, I was able to create a purpose built nursery facility. Together with being responsible for all operational matters and the overall service offering, the nursery is in the form of what I consider a nursery should be. Cheeky Monkeys is reflective of my experience and unwavering interest in the provision of top level childcare.

I joined Cheeky Monkeys in August 2016 and have worked in childcare for over 15 years. As well as childcare, which I am passionate about, I also have a qualification in healthcare. Along with my qualifications I have a lot of experience with young children and adults with special needs.

I have been working in the field of education for the past 35 years, originally training as a teacher at St John's York and then completing my Masters in Education at Cambridge in 2002. Over my career I have worked across all age ranges but have a real passion for the the Early Years, formerly owning a sixty place kindergarten in Cambridgeshire for 18 years. My career led on to headship in three different settings including Hong Kong. I moved to the beautiful island of Jersey 5 years ago and am so excited to be joining the wonderful team at Cheeky Monkeys. Creative Early Years Education for me is the key to developing the 'holistic growth' that children need for their journey through education and life.

I have had a passion for working with children since a young age and find supporting them to learn and develop so rewarding. I have experience of working within the childcare industry for over 8 years and have previously spent 5 years in a day nursery setting.

After working in childcare for 20 years, I had a 4 year break to raise my daughter. I am very excited to be working with children again, especially in the Cheeky Monkeys nursery setting.

Previous to joining Cheeky Monkeys, I worked in the care industry for 8 years. I have two children aged 11 and 5 so knew that I would love working with children! Progressing in childcare is important to me and I look forward to studying for my qualifications.

Working with children has always been a passion of mine. I completed my Level 3 in 2018 and have been working in childcare ever since. I have experience working with children up to 5 years of age but the majority of my time has been spent with 2-3 year olds. I feel so privileged to be working within early years at Cheeky Monkeys, the role is so rewarding.

My passion for supporting young people is underpinned by a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care and a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree. I've gained valuable experience across diverse settings, including adult mental health, and am absolutely thrilled to join the Cheeky Monkeys team! I am driven by the opportunity to support children during their formative years and am dedicated to creating a nurturing and positive environment. I look forward to contributing to the team and helping your children thrive.

Working with children is a strong passion and a rewarding experience to me. I love being part of the children's journey to grow and develop by giving them the best support they need. I used to volunteer at youth clubs, working with older children to teach skills and give advice. I love being part of the Baby Bears team!

I joined Cheeky Monkeys in early 2020 and feel very privileged to be part of the team. Having completed the 'Introduction to Early Years Settings', I have now also completed my Level 3 qualification since joining the nursery. I have a BA (hons) degree in textile design and enjoy combining my creativity with childcare. The regular trips to the zoo are great and I love my many adventures with the children!

I joined Cheeky Monkeys in early 2023, after gaining years of experience working in various child care settings. These settings included private nurseries, schools and I also have experience of working with children that have additional needs. I feel it is a privilege working in the child care sector and being part of children's early years.

I joined Cheeky Monkeys in January 2024 after coming back to work from maternity leave. I graduated in November 2022 with a degree in Psychology and Neuroscience, having previously studied Level 4 in Childhood, Family and Education Studies. Following this, I worked in a nursery for 3 years. I am excited to be back to my passion of childcare, after a small break.

I joined Cheeky Monkeys in February 2024 and am enjoying getting to know the team and the children. I have experience working in other nurseries, as a private nanny and in summer clubs. I love working at Cheeky Monkeys, the team is amazing and the garden is such an adventure.

I have experience working with children aged 0-8 years and joined the Cheeky team in March 2017. My BA Hons was completed in 2015 at Liverpool Hope University. I feel positive in my role of helping children grow and develop in many different ways.

I joined Cheeky Monkeys in 2016 and have worked in both Growing Gorillas and Mini Meerkats. I have always aspired to work with children and enjoy making full use of the outdoor environment. I have over 7 years of experience working with children and apply this to my role as a practitioner.

I graduated from Edge Hill university in 2021 and joined Cheeky Monkeys in the September. The whole team are awesome and I love being able to explore the zoo, as well as our garden, which is as fun for me as it is for the children! It makes me happy to see the children learn and figure out new ways to do things.

Prior joining the Cheeky team, I graduated with an honours in 3D Design and Craft, from the University of Brighton. Following this, I facilitated pop up art classes and joined a local nursery, as a creative lead. I organised activities and collaborated with other staff to support children's development. Blending teaching with art makes me happy and I love the creativity and imaginative ideas, that children express through their art work.  

I joined Cheeky Monkeys in August 2025. I love working with children and enjoy the variety that each day brings — from creative play to outdoor adventures and learning together. I find great joy in supporting each child’s development and helping them grow in confidence and curiosity. I am very keen to continue my studies and hope to progress to a childcare qualification.

Before going to Cheeky Monkeys, I graduated with a BSc in Psychology, from the University of Leeds. I have always had a passion for working with children and it is a privilege to support their development, in such a fun and engaging environment! I love fostering curiosity and creativity in little learners and helping them grow with confidence.

My passion has always been to work with children. I have been in the childcare industry since completing my NNEB qualification aged 18. As well as gaining experience as a Nanny I also have over 25 years working in various nursery settings. My roles in nurseries have included staff management.

I have over 25 years of experience with children aged between 0-12 years. My passion since childhood has been the great outdoors and I love encouraging the children to explore, get muddy and learn about their natural environment. I enjoy travelling and experiencing other cultures, the children love hearing about my adventures!

I joined Cheeky Monkeys in January 2025 and am thrilled to be working with the team and the children within the nursery. I am Level 3 qualified and have worked in nursery settings since 2021. I also volunteered as a gymnastics coach from the age of 13, until 2024, so a long time!

I have worked within Childcare for the past 2 years, and I have a 5 year old son myself, called Archie. I thoroughly look forward to pursuing my career in Childcare at Cheeky Monkeys, including growing relationships with all the children, staff and parents/carers. I'm also currently studying my Level 3 at Highlands, this I also thoroughly enjoy!

Before joining Cheeky Monkeys I was the Head Chef in a busy restaurant/cafe, where I worked for almost 15 years. Cheeky Monkeys is a lovely change and environment for a new challenge.

I joined the Cheeky team at the end of 2023. My daughter spent two happy years at the nursery and my son is in his final year. I am really happy to pick up the career that I left in 2018, to start my family.

I was born in Budapest but grew up mostly in Jersey - despite this I am fortunate to be proficient in Hungarian. Previous to joining the team at Cheeky Monkeys, I spent 3 years in Leeds, completing a BA in Liberal Arts. After gaining some experience in another nursery setting, I joined the team in October 2024. This opportunity felt like the right next step and I look forward to developing my skills and spending time outdoors, with the children.

I have been working with young children for 30 years and enjoy all aspects of caring for and educating them. I have worked in pre school, schools and day nurseries. I also volunteer with Girl guiding Jersey and enjoy looking after my two grandchildren. I love being out in the garden, crafts and construction play.

I moved from the UK to Jersey in May 2023, with my daughter. We love the island life and being so close to the beach. For 8 years prior, I worked at a baby swim centre and although I wasn't teaching the children, I created bonds with them. I loved being part of the children's weekly swim journey and watching them grow and develop. I am so excited to have the opportunity to work at Cheeky Monkeys and get to know the staff and children.

I have recently joined Cheeky Monkeys, in November 2023. I am very excited to gain more experience and further my knowledge in childcare. Since a young age I have had a passion to work with children and love to spend time with them outdoors and exploring!

I have experience in nannying, babysitting and working in a nursery environment for over 12 years now. As well as my degree, which included modules such as psychology and sociology of education, I have taken various short courses held by the JCCT.

I have 10 years experience in after school care, teaching and working in a nursery environment. Previous to joining the Cheeky team I worked in China and Korea as an English teacher for 3 years. I have a background in drama and love all things creative and explorative. I moved back to the Island with my husband in 2019 and am really enjoying exploring beautiful Jersey again.

I joined Cheeky Monkeys at the beginning of 2022, as an exciting new chapter for myself. As a mother of three young children, I bring an abundance of maternal experience with me, which I believe is a huge strength when working within a nursery environment. I feel very privileged to care for other peoples children, in the same way I would want someone to care for my own.

I have worked with children and families for over 25yrs. I have experience in a variety of roles and within different settings, both in Jersey and Sweden (my native country). I have previously studied for an MA in Primary Mental Health Work and enjoy applying my training to working with young children and families.

I have 20 years experience working in different childcare settings. I had a four year break to raise my children but am looking forward to coming back to Cheeky Monkeys where I previously worked in 2016.

I joined Cheeky Monkeys in June 2025 and have been enjoying spending time with the children and helping them to learn and grow. I have a Diploma in Early Childhood Development and worked in a nursery back in South Africa before moving to Jersey.

I am a full-time student at Highlands College studying on the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare & Education. As part of my training I will be at Cheeky Monkeys on a Thursday and Friday each week. During my placement I will be supporting the baby and toddler rooms where I will be putting theory into practice. As part of my training I will be completing observations, if you would like to ask more about my course please do ask me. I know that I will learn a lot during my time here on placement and I thank both you and your children for providing me with this opportunity.
